A NATURAL SOLUTION FOR REAL-WORLD BOATS

BOATDEK EVERCOR MARINE DECKING

Evercor isn't EVA foam, synthetic teak or traditional cork decking. It's a purpose-developed cork composite marine decking material containing 50% natural cork, combining the natural properties of cork with a durable marine-grade polymer compound.

The result is a dense, resilient deck surface engineered to resist the cuts, tears and heavy wear that can occur in demanding marine applications, while retaining the comfort, insulation and distinctive appearance of natural cork. At just 3.5 mm thick, Evercor creates a low-profile, hard-wearing deck suitable for everything from recreational trailer boats to commercial and high-use vessels. Every BoatDek Evercor installation is custom designed and CNC fabricated to suit your boat.

WHY CHOOSE EVERCOR?

MADE FOR FISHING BOATS

Its dense cork composite construction provides significantly different characteristics from soft foam decking, making Evercor particularly well suited to serious fishing boats where resistance to everyday wear and damage matters.

ENGINEERED FOR HARD USE

Unlike softer foam materials, Evercor is engineered to resist tearing and puncturing, making it an excellent option for areas regularly exposed to heavy equipment and hard use.

CONFIDENT FOOTING

From a wet cockpit to the swim platform, Evercor helps provide secure footing where it matters. And because every BoatDek installation is CNC fabricated, deck patterns can be designed to combine visual appeal with functional grip.

NATURAL CORK PERFORMANCE

Cork is an exceptional natural insulator. Its cellular structure helps reduce heat transfer through the deck, while also providing natural acoustic and impact-damping properties.

BUILT FOR REAL BOATING

A fishing boat shouldn't need to be treated like a lounge room.
Evercor's dense composite construction is designed to resist water and common marine contaminants including oil, grease, fish blood, bait and even notoriously difficult squid ink.

For normal maintenance, simply wash the deck down after use. Mild detergent can be used when required, and Evercor is also suitable for careful pressure cleaning when dealing with more persistent grime.

Evercor Marine Decking FAQs

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Evercor marine decking?

Evercor is a high-performance marine decking material manufactured from a cork/polymer composite containing 50% natural cork. It combines the natural grip, insulation and cushioning characteristics of cork with the durability of a purpose-developed polymer compound.

How thick is BoatDek Evercor?

The Evercor range offered by BoatDek is 3.5 mm thick.

Is Evercor EVA foam?

No. Evercor is a cork composite material rather than EVA foam. The two materials provide different characteristics, which is why BoatDek offers both.

Is Evercor suitable for fishing boats?

Yes. Fishing is one of Evercor's strongest applications. Its resistance to wear, cuts, tears, staining and heavy use makes it particularly suitable for serious fishing boats.

Is Evercor suitable for commercial boats?

Yes. Evercor is particularly well suited to high-use and commercial marine applications where durability, grip, comfort and easy maintenance are important.

Does Evercor get slippery when wet?

Evercor's cork composite surface provides excellent grip, and CNC-machined patterns further increase the available surface texture. It is specifically designed for use in wet marine environments.

Does Evercor get hot?

Cork is naturally thermally insulating. Evercor states that its decking can remain up to 10°C cooler than other decking products, although actual surface temperature will vary with colour, ambient conditions and exposure.

Is Evercor comfortable to stand on?

Yes. Although Evercor is considerably denser and firmer than EVA foam, the natural compression characteristics of cork provide cushioning and help reduce fatigue.

Will fish blood and squid ink stain Evercor?

Evercor is designed to resist common marine contaminants including fish blood, bait, oil, grease and squid ink. Prompt cleaning is always recommended after use.

Can Evercor be pressure washed?

Evercor permits pressure cleaning. Appropriate pressure, nozzle distance and cleaning technique should always be used, particularly around panel edges and surrounding fittings.

Can I customise the design?

Absolutely. BoatDek can CNC fabricate Evercor with custom deck patterns, borders, logos, boat names, fish rulers and other personalised details.

What colours does BoatDek offer?

BoatDek currently offers four 3.5 mm Evercor combinations:

  • Grey / Black
  • Silver / Grey
  • Teak / Black
  • Teak / White

Is Evercor environmentally friendly?

Evercor contains 50% natural cork. Cork is a renewable material because the bark can be harvested without cutting down the cork oak tree. As Evercor also contains a polymer component, BoatDek describes it accurately as a marine decking product incorporating a substantial renewable natural material rather than claiming the complete product is natural or biodegradable.

How long is Evercor warranted for?

Evercor provides a 5-year manufacturer's warranty for qualifying installations fabricated and installed by certified Evercor fabricators/installers, subject to warranty terms.

Which is better — Evercor or EVA?

Neither material is universally better.

Premium EVA offers greater softness, cushioning, thickness and colour flexibility. Evercor provides a denser, harder-wearing surface particularly suited to fishing, commercial and high-use applications.

BoatDek can help you choose the best material based on your vessel and how you use it.
